Hello and welcome to the restorm technical blog. It is here that we post about what is happening in our labs, what keeps us busy and why X doesn't work. Read more about us on the about page.
Programming and other alchemical tasks

From left to right (and top to bottom):
Severin Schoepke, Niko Dittmann
Severin Schoepke
Severin Schoepke likes programming in low-level languages like C or even GPU shaders. However, from time to time he needs a little break and enjoys writing the coolest little things in Ruby – sometimes this little things then turn out to be big webapps.
“There can be only one!” was Severin’s birthcry. And to this day, there is only one Severin Schoepke. He has so many e’s in his name that he once sold a lot of them to the german game show “Glücksrad”, making a fortune in the process. He’s the man to ask if you need a g of e.
Niko Dittmann
Niko Dittmann started working with Ruby on Rails in late 2005 and is a proud restorm code ninja as of september 2007. Actually being able to apply best coding practices in his daily work makes him truly believe again in programming as art.
“The path of the righteous coder is beset on all sides by the brackets of lisp and the constraints of java. Blessed is he who, in the name of clarity and good style, shepherds the weak through the dark valley of boilerplate code. For he is truly his classes’s keeper and the finder of missing methods. And I will strike down upon thee with blocks and furious closures those who attempt to unDRY my code and just do copy and paste. And you will know I am Ruby when I lay my last ‘end’ upon you.”
